Glenn Marais @ Hartman P.S. Feb 25th

My project is a multi-level campaign, designed to be an effective counter-action to the growing problem of bullying. Much attention has been brought to this problem in the media and through campaigns and programs, however our program features young people acting in a music video for a song I wrote called, "Say My Name", that illustrates the damage done by bullying and how uniting together can help and it is focused on engaging youth in positive acts of giving across Canada in a 30 day challenge that they can do and post on social media, that will create positive change.

We are asking every single person in Canada to collect acts of giving leading up to Pink Shirt Day on Feb.25/2015.
At exactly 12:00 P.M. Feb.25/2015 the International release of the video for the song “Say my Name” by the Glenn Marais Band will stream around the world. This video will bring awareness and help to anyone who has been hurt by the scourge of bullying.
When one person is bullied we all become victims The time for change is now
Send us your total acts of giving and we will announce to the world, “How Kind Canada can be on Pink Shirt Day”.
On Wed.Feb.25th/2015
“Let’s show the world how kind Canada can be!”

Pink Shirt Day Wednesday February 24th!

Remember to wear Pink tomorrow!

Our Spirit Assembly will be from 2-2:30pm

Pink Shirt Day is about challenging our school community to work together to make sure that everyone feels accepted and included.  The message will be that even small acts of kindness and individual demonstrations of tolerance can have a huge impact on the overall tone in the school.

On February 12, Hartman PS was privileged to send 10 students to a Basketball Clinic hosted by the NBA All-Stars. Our kids were instructed on basketball philosophy, skills and drills by a number of coaches and NBA staff, including current members of the world champion Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Basketball teaches us many things, and we learned four key morals during the clinic:
1) Five people working as a team always beats five people working individually.
2) Just because you're down on the scoreboard doesn't mean you give up. Keep fighting. Keep working.
3) Just because someone doesn't look like you or sound like you, doesn't matter. What matters is what's inside of us, and basketball is a great way to find out.
4) Rules are put in place to make sure that the game is executed with fairness and competition. Honour the game while you are playing it and when off the court.
A huge thank you to Mr. Helston for arranging this wonderful opportunity!
