Coffee and Chat Reminder

Greetings Hartman Families,

Just a quick reminder that Mr. Helston is inviting any parents who wish to come in to speak informally about school issues, concerns, compliments, etc. are invited this Friday, January 8th to either our 7:30 - 8:30 session, or from 9:00 - 10:00.  Hot coffee and yummy snacks will be provided, as always. Please send Christina.Bailey@yrdsb.ca a quick email to let us know you are coming!

Extra Curricular Activities

Extra curricular is back in full swing!

Today the following activities were announced for the children to participate in;

• Junior Volleyball Try-outs continued 
• Tech Team met with Ms Allen
• Red Maple Reading Club for Intermediates
• Winter Electives (Note coming home this Friday, everything is online this year, nothing gets sent in to the school)
• Healthy schools club met today
• Intermediate boys basketball had a meeting
• I-Walk begins again Wednesday, bring your stuffy! We are raising money to help save a polar bear 
  
• 1-2-3 singers are back and practicing a fun song about cold weather!

Dear Hartman Families,

Welcome back to 2016!
We are modernizing in the New Year and we will be switching to a weekly blog instead of a monthly newsletter.  We will also have "in the moment" communication via Twitter.  We are making these changes in response to parent feedback, and we hope that both these formats will allow us to communicate with parents and students in a more timely fashion.
Please feel free to make comments and suggestions, we want to make both the blog and the twitter feed effective tools for the community.

Looking Ahead

We are looking forward to "Arts Day" and "Electives Day", which will both be held in February (more information to come on that as we get more details).

JK Registration:  January 15th
Parent Council Meeting:  January 28th (6:30-8:00pm)
Term 1 Reports go home February 18th
